Hybrid’s Chicago Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes

For children & adults. Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program takes pride in offering top-level Jiu-Jitsu training for all levels. We teach Jiu-Jitsu techniques that have been proven to work, passing on what we’ve learned in our Jiu-Jitsu training as well as our own style that we’ve developed over many years of training and competing.

Our Jiu-Jitsu program is ideal for individuals looking for more than just a place to practice and be challenged in learning new skills. It is also for anyone wanting to belong to a friendly and supportive community, and have lots of fun.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art and combat sport system that focuses on grappling with particular emphasis on ground fighting. Developed from Kodokan judo ground fighting fundamentals that were taught by a number of Japanese individuals. Eventually came to be its own defined combat sport through the innovations, practices, and adaptation of judo.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is founded on the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent. By using technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground. Then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent. Brazilian jiu-jitsu training can be used for sport grappling tournaments and in self-defense situations
